Rev. DeVaughn Swanson, Esq., M.T.S.
Bio
Reverend DeVaughn Swanson is the biological son of our Founding Pastor, the late Pastor Victoria Swanson James, and the late Victor E. Swanson Sr. He accepted his call to the ministry at a very young age and preached his first sermon at the Metropolitan Memorial Baptist Church in Ypsilanti, MI under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. S.L. Roberson.
DeVaughn has served in ministerial roles at the historic Providence Missionary Baptist Church (Atlanta, GA) and Poplar Springs Christian Church (Raleigh, NC). However, he remained a member of Ekklesia Fellowship Ministries and served on the ministerial staff for over 10 years. DeVaughn also served in the following EFM ministries: youth department; male chorus; usher board; and anniversary committee.
In addition to Christian ministry DeVaughn enjoys business and law. DeVaughn has held the following legal and business roles: Attorney, Business Consultant (Infosys Consulting Company), Corporate Executive Fellow (Chick-fil-A Inc.), Law Clerk (United States Office of Special Counsel), and Summer Judicial Clerk to Chief Justice Harold Melton (Georgia Supreme Court). He has served on several boards including, but not limited to: Executive Committee for the NAACP Ypsilanti-Willow Run Branch, the National Black Law Students Association, and the City of Refuge Innovation Board. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and the 100 Black Men of Greater Detroit.
DeVaughn received his Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Morehouse College, Master of Theological Studies from Duke University, and Juris Doctor from the University of Georgia School of Law.
